The Robins…

Every Spring the robins start becoming visible in areas of our yard. Their favorite places to claim seem to our playset and a small tree that we have near there. If they kids are outside, they usually leave them alone. If our cat, however, escapes out of the house they stay close and call in reinforcement. Most of the time their nest is in view and I know they are protecting it, but this year I haven't been able to spot it yet. I'm hoping that their nest is in a better location this year and not in an area where it can be blown out of the tree again.

The other day while our cat Speedy was enjoying some freedom outside, this robin was watching him and let me get pretty close with my camera. I would have liked to get a little closer, but he wasn't comfortable with that – he flow off as soon as I took another step closer.
