He finally did it!

My husband has been talking about running a marathon for the past few years. He has looked into various marathons, he's even gotten to the point of requesting more info about a couple of them, but until this week he has never committed himself to actually participating in one. He has also been wanting to do some volunteer work or finding some way to make a difference in someone's life. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training allows him to do both – run a full marathon and raise money to help find a cure for a blood cancer that has affected a few people that we know.
After he signed up, he asked me if I would be interested in doing the marathon with him. Ummm….no! What I was really thinking is, "Are you CRAZY?!?" Running has never been one of my interests and the thought of running 26.2 miles seems like torture to me. However, running is something that he enjoys and I'm proud that he is finally committing himself to something that he's been wanting to do for awhile. He will be training for the next 5 months to prepare himself for the Nike Woman's Marathon in San Francisco. And no, you don't have to be a woman to run in that marathon. 🙂
