First Day…

Today was the first day of school. They were both so excited about getting up and getting ready today! G's alarm clock went off at 6:15 and she was up and ready in just a few minutes. M's alarm went off at 6:30, but she needed a couple of minutes to wake up before getting dressed. Then the race was on to eat breakfast, get hair and teeth brushed, make lunches, get a couple of first day of school photos done and hop into dad's truck or mom's van by 7:15 for the ride to school. Normally they both will be dropped off by their dad, but today we each took one so that they wouldn't be late. Thankfully we had decided to do that, as there were long lines to get out of our neighborhood and at all of the stop signs. Hopefully tomorrow won't be as bad!

Here they are with their new clothes and backpacks. G wanted a bag that looked like her dad's and M was excited to find a frog one.

I can't wait to hear all about their day when they get home! I'm sure they will each have an hour worth of stories to tell me. 🙂

Poor girls, C gets to sleep in past the time you guys have to leave! He gets up just a few minutes before 7:30, and the way he has been hurrying he could theoretically stay in bed longer. I’m so glad we live close enough to bike during nice weather. There isn’t traffic on the way to school (a half mile or so), but when you get to school there are long car lines in and out. I’ll deal with it when I have to, but the bikes are great in the meantime!
I hope they were talkative for you. I have to pull teeth to get C to tell me anything other that “it’s bad” b/c kindergarten is so much longer than preschool. TG he went to a 3.25 hour preschool. Virtually all here are only 2-2.5 hours.
